Asphalt Shingle Maintenance and Organic Growth Treatments

We have spent considerable time and effort developing our asphalt shingle cleaning process. It is important to highlight that we do not use brooms or pressure washers on asphalt shingle roofs to prevent damage or reduce their lifespan. Our main goal is to exceed the expected lifespan of your roof, so we are very careful and thorough in removing any moss larger than 3/8 or the width of a pinkie finger from the shingles. Once this task is finished, we will apply a chlorine-based solution to the entire roof surface. Within 45 seconds, the moss will turn white like cottage cheese, its root system will die, and it will detach from the roof within 3 to 9 months, depending on the time of year. The drawback to this is that you will have the unsightly organic growth on your roof for a certain period of time. However, the benefit is that our method is much less invasive and aligns with all roof shingle manufacturers' warranty policies. Some other companies may remove more moss with a broom before applying the organic growth to the roof. We advise against using any company that chooses this method on an asphalt shingle roof due to inevitable granule loss with a broom.

Some important aspects of our roof softwash cleaning service include diluting or applying a neutralizer to any nearby plants, wetting down the house to protect the paint, and providing a comprehensive three-year warranty. If you have any moss or green discoloration on your roof, we will come back and re-spray the affected area at no charge within three years from the date of application, as long as there is no tree branch directly hanging over the roof or within 8 feet of the gutter line in the affected area.
